Topics covered include the analysis of complex atomic spectra, the mercury 198 lamp, rare earth and rare gas spectra analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and the standards of wavelength. Primarily concerns Meggers' work in analytical spectroscopy; optics; the adoption of international standards; his work as the head of the Spectroscopy Section at the National Bureau of Standards (now NIST); as well as some personal correspondence.
