Hale Observatories annual reports, 1904-1980.
The published annual reports of the director of the Observatories were reprinted from the Yearbook of the Carnegie Institution of Washington.
Owned and operated by the Carnegie Institution of Washington, the Pasedena, Calif. observatories were known as the Mount Wilson Observatory (1904-1948), the Mount Wilson and Palomar Observatories (1948-1969), the Hale Observatories (1969-1980), and since 1980, the Mount Wilson and Las Campanas Observatories. This last site is in Chile. The observatories were jointly operated by Carnegie and the California Institute of Technology (1948-1980).
