Warren O. Hagstrom interviews conducted for his book THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY, 1960-1961.
Consists of thirty-seven transcripts of interviews conducted by Hagstrom in 1960-1961 with California scientists connected with universities and engaged in research in experimental physics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and theoretical physics. This material formed much of the empirical basis of his 1965 book, THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY. Some of the interviews are with Daniel E. Atkinson, Rudolph Carnap, Geoffrey F. Chew, Max S. Dunn, Murray Gell-Mann, Wendell H. Griffith, John R. Holmes, Cecil E. Leith, Jerzy Nayman, John E. Roberts, Robert L. Sinsheimer, Harry Suhl, William K. Watson, and Daniel Zwansiger.
