Boston University Department of Astronomy course materials, 1900-1970
Consists of drafts of the text, reader, and teachers' guide for Case Studies on the Development of Modern Astronomy (1900-1940), a curriculum supplement on galactic and extragalactic astronomy intended for undergraduates. The three units of the reader: Early Controversies Over the Size of the Universe, Galactic Structure, and Extragalactic Nebulae, contain copies of primary documents such as correspondence, unpublished manuscripts, and workbooks. This material was compiled during an educational project directed by Richard Berendzen (1969-1970).
