Richard Wilson personal archive, 1944-2007.
Accession 18920: the bulk of this accession consists of Wilson's research files including engineering and government reports, on the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Russia, nuclear reactor safety, the Three Mile Island nuclear accident in Pennsylvania, muon scattering, and electromagnetic fields. The accession also includes teaching materials such as lecture notes, handouts, and transparencies from Wilson's nuclear physics and natural science courses at Harvard; Wilson's student notes from his studies at Oxford University; and Wilson's litigation records pertaining to an environmental dispute involving Private Fuel Storage LLC, a spent nuclear fuel facility in Utah, 1944-2007.
Accession 18988 : this accession contains Wilson's research files including engineering and government reports on muon scattering, optical model research, and nucleonnucleon interaction. The accession also includes research reports on the study of high energy nuclear physics by the Harvard Department of Physics and reports on the use of the Cambridge Electron Accelerator, 1956-1996 (2 cubic feet, 2 record cartons).
American physicist. D.Phil., Oxford University (1949). A professor of physics at Harvard University since 1955; research interests include nuclear and particle physics and various topics in risk assessment and risk-benefit analysis.
