Series include: 1) Scientific works and drafts materials. (43 folders, 1950-1968). Main part consists of papers about the detonation of gases: "O perekhode medlennogo goreniia v detonatsiiu " ("On the Transformation of the Slow Burning into the Detonation", 1953); "O stkrukture gazovoj detonatsii" ("On the Structure of the Gase Detonation", 1958). Papers on general problems of science: "I.V. Kurchatov" (1962); "Strannye chastitsy" ("Strange Particles", 1962). Most of them are published. Among unpublished materials there are notebooks with outlines of courses on basic burning, reviews of monographs, books and dissertations, preparatory materials for the paper "Gazodinamika goreniia" ("Gas dynamics of burning") for the collection of articles "Mechanics in the USSR for 50 years". 2) Papers by other authors which were revised or translated by Shcholkin make a special group of documents. Among them there are his translation of Romer's book "Neugomonnyi atom" (?, 1963), amended papers for the collection of articles "Atomnaia nauka i tekhnika v SSSR" ("Atomic Science and the Technology in the USSR", 1966-1967).
