In this interview, conducted by telephone from Provo, Utah, Harvey Fletcher discusses his work at Bell Telephone Laboratories, tests of stereophonic sound at the Academy of Music, and his experiences working with the conductor Leopold Stokowski.
American physicist. Ph.D. physics, University of Chicago (1911). Professional experience includes: physics research director, Bell Laboratories (1911-1949); professor of electrical engineering, Columbia University (1949-1952); director of research, dean of college of physics and engineering, professor emeritus, Brigham Young University (1952-1981).
