Correspondence, course and lecture notes, research notes; administrative, professional and other personal interest files; letters of recommendation, drafts of manuscripts, addresses, and photoprints documenting the career of Prentice as a specialist in particle and high energy physics. Well documented is his involvement with the research facilities at CERN, DESY (ARGUS and ZEUS experiments), CESR, CHEER, and FNAL; professional organizations such as the Canadian Association of Physicists and the Institute of Particle Physics; and, at the University of Toronto, the University Research Association and Women in Natural Sciences (SHEWINS).
James Prentice received his Ph.D. in physics from Glasgow University. Professor of physics at the University of Toronto starting in 1959; retired in 1995. Research interests include high energy particle physics, high energy Hadron interactions and Hadron spectroscopy.
