Adler, Henry L. (Henry Ludwig), 1922-
Henry L. Adler records, 1957-1979.
Records of Henry L. Adler's work as Secretary (1960-1075), President (1977-1978) and Past-President (1979) of the Mathematical Association of America, together with some records of the latter portion (1957-1960) of H.J. Gehman's term as Secretary. The records are chiefly related to the Mathemathical Association of America's work in fostering mathematics education on the primary through college level. The collection reflects Adler's activities in connection with the Board of Governors, Executive and Finance Committee, Committee on the Undergraduate Program in Mathematics, and several other committees and affiliated organizations. Included are correspondence, agendas, minutes, grant proposals, and reports.
Adler was born in Duisburg Germany. He taught Mathematics at the University of California, Davis. His areas of research include number theory and the existence and nonexistence of certain identites in the theory of partitions and compositions.
