Wolfgang and Adele Panofsky's diaries of their trips to China, 1977 and 1983.
The first report is from a trip taken by Wolfgang Panofsky and his wife Adele to China in October 1976 as part of Stanford University's United States-China Relations Program. The report includes information on Panofsky's conversations with high energy physicists, visits to universities, research institute, and industrial installations, the purge of the "Gang of Four" and the appointment of Hua Kuo-feng as Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party. The second is a diary by Adele that describes their trip to China from September to October 1983.
