Watson Research Center in the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) and at Yale University.
Benoit Mandelbrot was born in 1924 in Warsaw, to a Lithuanian Jewish family, and died in 2010 at age 85 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was a maverick mathematician who developed the field of fractal geometry and applied it to physics, biology, finance, and many other fields.
