Born 1928. Professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1963. Kistiakowsky has conducted research in the field of experimental nuclear physics, experimental high energy physics, and astrophysics. She is a fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was elected to the Council of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (1987-89) and to the Senate of Phi Beta Kappa (1989-92).
