Cambridge Electron Accelerator motion picture films, circa 1962-1967.
Consists of three original films and videocassette copies (6 VHS cassettes). The films include "Inside the Ring", 1962, tour of CEA with Milton Stanley Livingston, CEA director (1 film reel : sd., b&w ; 16 mm.); "People and Particles", story of one experiment at the CEA, 1964-1967(?), produced by Harvard Project Physics (1 film reel : sd., b&w ; 16 mm.); and "A Tour of the CEA", 1967, with William A. Shurcliff (1 film reel : sd., col. ; 16 mm.).
The Cambridge Electron Accelerator was operated jointly between Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It existed as a research facility from 1962-circa 1974. Research in the physics of high energy interactions of electrons and photons was carried out by teams composed of staff members and graduate students from the sponsoring institutions and other research centers.
