University of Utah Seismograph Stations records, 1971-1980.
The bulk of this collection consists of research proposals and reports concerning geology, seismology, and earthquake prediction, the majority of which were authored by Robert B. Smith or Kenneth L. Cook. Also included is a small quantity of correspondence dealig with administrative matters.
A research, educational, and public service unit of the University of Utah's department of geology and geophysics; the data is collected from a network of stations in several states and used for assessing earthquake hazards and studying earthquake mechanics.
