(1934- ) M.S. (1964) and Ph.D. (1968) from University of Wisconsin; joined faculty of the University of Minnesota in 1967; associate professor of the history of science at Boston University (1971-1972); returned to University of Minnesota (1972) as associate professor of the history of science and technology in the school of physics and astronomy; acting director of the Charles Babbage Institute (CBI) (1980-1981).
