Correspondence 1840-1865 with Dr. J. Lee, astronomer and former president of the Royal Astronomical Society, London concerning Victoria and New South Wales.
Astronomer. Rumker was Astronomer at the Parramatta Observatory, Australia and the first Government Astronomer, New South Wales, Australia 1821-1823 and 1826-1830. He then took up a position as Director of the Hamburg Observatory, Germany 1833-1857.
