Collection consists of scrapbooks, medals, awards, photographs, letters of condolence after the death of E. O. Lawrence and other memorabilia relating primarily to the later years of Lawrence's life, including his research in nuclear physics and the establishment of the Lawrence Hall of Science. Of particular interest is a photo album compiled on a tour of Japan in 1955, ten years after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
American physicist and Nobel Laureate. Ph.D. physics, Yale University (1925). Professional expreience includes: research fellow in physics, assistant professor, Yale University (1925-1928); associate professor, professor director of radiation laboratory, University of California (1928-1958).
