Physicist. Joined the Council for Scientific and Indusrial Research (later called the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) National Standards Laboratory in 1939 and led the Heat and Temperature Measurement Section of the Division of Physics for 30 years. He was also involved in Australia's conversion to the metric system of measurement.
