A biography of Edward Gerjuoy that covers such topics as his youth and education, his time at Berkeley University, his work with J. Robert Oppenheimer, choosing not to follow Oppenheimer to Los Alamos National Laboratory, his work during World War II, his time at the University of Southern California and then at the University of Pittsburgh with David Halliday, the Radio Corporation of America (RCA), who influenced him as a youth, his eventual career change when he took a law degree, his work on the Environmental Hearing Board in Pennsylvania, and his return to physics.
David K. C. Cooper has an MD and a PhD and is a professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His areas of research interest include tolerance induction, xenotransplantation, and islet cell transplantation.
