Chapman, Richard A. (Richard Alexander), 1932-
Oral history interview with Richard Chapman, 2008 December 10.
Dr. Chapman discusses his family upbringing and early education, his early interest in nuclear physics, his football career in high school and at Rice University and being drafted by the Detroit Lions, his decision to go to graduate school at Rice University instead, his career at General Electric Vallecitos Atomic Laboratory and at Texas Instruments. He concludes with a discussion of his retirement from TI and his health, and some analysis of the changing roles of industrial reasearch and development and the differences between academic and industrial research.
Richard A. Chapman received his PhD in physics from Rice University in 1957.
