Theoretical physicist; professor of physics at Brooklyn College, since 1977; Education Officer (1987-94) and Associate Executive Secretary, American Physical Society (1990-94). He was a founding member of the APS's Forum on Physics and Society in 1972. His specialty is theoretical solid state physics and he has performed research in the following areas: low temperature physics, superconductivity, type II superconductors, Josephson junctions, the response of ferromagnetic metals, and the many-body problem.
