The Department of Physics was separated from the Department of Chemistry and Physics in 1888, was administered in succession by the School of Mathematics and Physics in 1895, School of Natural Science in 1907, the School of Chemistry and Physics in 1924, the College of Chemistry and Physics in 1953, the College of Science in 1963, and the Eberly College of Science in 1990.
