Donald B. Keck (1941- ) Research physicist, educated at Michigan State University through his Ph.D. in Physics in 1967. He spent his entire career at Corning where he reached the position of Vice President and Technology Director of Optical Physics. He was a part of the research team that designed the first optical fiber which launched the modern fiber optics industry. For this work he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and received the National Medal of Technology in 2000.
