6 volumes of meteorological observations made at Whitehaven and in the Lake District with a contemporary weather commentary on a monthly and annual basis, includes observation of eclipses, aurora borealis, etc., also natural phenomenon, harvests, etc. Includes also observations on board ship during round world voyage 1837-1838. Also astronomical observations at Whitehaven Sept. 1848-Sept. 1853 and a synopsis on weather from other observers using newspaper cuttings and printed pamphlets as well as hand-written material.
