Clara Brink Shoemaker (1921- ), doctorate in chemistry 1950 from Leiden University, X-ray crystallography. She became a senior research professor at Oregon State University in 1982 and retired as professor emeritus.
David Shoemaker (1920-1995), chairman of the Oregon State University Chemistry department from 1970-1981. He was an X-ray crystallographer, recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1947.
