Goodrich, Max, 1905-

Goodrich discusses his work in the Louisiana State University Physics Department and his relationships with other faculty members, his research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and in electron scattering in gases and artificial (induced) radioactivity, and his tenure as dean of the Graduate School.
Max Goodrich (1905-1999) graduated from the University of Minnesota and came to LSU in 1937. He taught physics before becoming dean of the Graduate School in 1961. He played a key role in bringing to LSU in 1965 a large National Science Foundation Development Grant that changed the complexion of the mathematics and physical science departments. He retired in 1973.
