Zimmerman, George O.
George Zimmerman interview with Edward Teller [videorecording], 1999 December 11.
An interview with Edward Teller, conducted by George Zimmerman and Michael Kaplan in Teller's home in Stanford, California. This interview was held in honor of the 15th International Symposium on the Electron-Phonon Dynamics and Jahn-Teller Effect, held at Boston University (August 16-22, 2000). The first section of the interview is a brief view of Teller in front of his home, the second section is his address for the Symposium, where he recounts some history of the Jahn-Teller formulation and crystal field theory. The third section contains some personal comments including why he became a theoretical physicist, and his family in Hungary. The fourth and final section contains some brief closing remarks by Teller.
Edward Teller: Physicist; assistant director, Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, 1949-1952; associate director, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, 1954-1975.
George Zimmerman: Physicsist, magnetism, superconductivity. Faculty, Boston University (1963-2000); affiliated with the Brookhaven National Laboratory, University of California San Diego, and Harvard University.
Michael Kaplan: Physicist, solid state chemistry. Ph.D., Moscow University. Professor of Chemistry and Physics, Simmons College.
