Eisenstein, Julian Calvert, 1921-
Julian Calvert Eisenstein papers, 1937-1999.
Correspondence to Julian Calvert Eisenstein during his student years at Harvard University. Collection includes notes from Julian Coolidge (Professor and Master of Lowell House, where Eisenstein lived as an undergraduate) and Eisenstein's tutor, Garrett Birkhoff, as well as notes received by Eisenstein as president of the Harvard Math Club. Also included are fundraising correspondence from the 1990s and a copy of a photograph of Eisenstein's children Margaret and John.
Julian Calvert Eisenstein earned his Harvard SB 1941, Harvard AM 1942, and Harvard Ph.D. 1948. He was awarded the Sheldon Travelling Fellowship in 1941 and a Parker Fellowship in Physics in 1942. He became a physicist and professor of physics.
