Two reports issued by the Manhattan District detailing the damages of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: "The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki," and "Photographs of the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki."
The Manhattan District was the name given to a unit within the United States Army Corps of Engineers formed to perform the scientific, governmental, and planning aspects involved in the testing, building and delivery of the atomic bomb. The District and its work was later known simply as the "Manhattan Project." Initialy headquartered in New York, the district administered additional laboratories and field instalations such as Hanford Engineer Works and the laboratory at Los Alamos, NM.
