Henry Levinstein (1919-1986) was a professor of Physics at Syracuse University from 1947 to 1986. He received a B.S. in 1942, an M.S. in 1943, and a Ph.D. in 1947, all from the University of Michigan. He was a teaching fellow, research assistant and lecturer at Michigan until he came to Syracuse in 1947. His primary interest was in infrared radiation, but he is best remembered for his courses and lectures on the physics of toys. He was chairman of the New York state section of the American Physical Society.
