The papers contain observational notes, drawings, photographs, newspaper clippings, published and unpublished papers and correspondence. Much of the material consists of observational notes about the planets and photographs and drawings of Mars. There is also a significant amount of material related to Slipher's non-research interests, such as political, governmental and educational concerns. Correspondents include Percival Lowell, Gerard Kuiper and Carl Sagan.
