James Hillier (1915- ). BA, MA, PhD, University of Toronto. RCA Laboratories (1940-1953); Melpar (1953-1955); RCA Laboratories (1955-1977). Designed first commercial electron microscope with Zworykin and Vance. Albert Lasker Award (1960), American Public Health Association; David Sarnoff Award (1967), IEEE; elected member of National Academy of Engineering (1967); Industrial Research Institute Medal (1975), inducted National Inventors Hall of Fame (1980).
