Oral history collection, circa 1958-1984.
The collection contains miscellaneous tapes and transcriptions which are not oral history. In addition, there are a number of interviews on various topics which are oral histories. Unless indicated, all are transcribed and open. Speakers and topics include: Alan Bean, NASA astronaut; Bob Becker, head of Space Station Orbital Operations, NASA; Robert L. Crippen, NASA astronaut; Jere L. Green, Director, National Plutonium Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory and Bruce McCandless II, NASA astronaut.
Texas A&M University is a coeducational public research university located in College Station, Texas. It is the flagship institution of the Texas A&M University System. It opened in 1876 as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, the first public institution of higher education in Texas.
