The American Physical Society (APS) Committee on Applications of Physics was formed to promote and coordinate applied physics and to improve the status and strength of applied physics, within the American Physical Sociey and the physics community in general. The APS Committee on Applications of Physics first met in Washington, DC in April 1975.
