Satyendranath Bose: University of Dacca, Reader in physics, (1921-1945), Head of Physics Department (1927-1945); Calcutta University, Guprasad Sing Professor of Physics (1945-1956), Professor Emeritus. He did important work in quantum theory, in particular on Planck's black body radiation law, as well as work on Bose-Einstein Statistics and Bose gases.
