Henry A. Rowland collection of reprints, 1793-1900.
The collection consists of over 2000 articles published by noted scientists between 1793-1900. The collection of reprints was assembled by the physicist, Henry Augustus Rowland, part of his personal library. The reprints are bound into 75 volumes with subject headings assigned by Rowland: Electricity, Heat, Liquids, Mechanics, Gases, Apparatus and Methods, Physics of the Earth, Solids, Chemistry, Acoustics, and Lights.
Biographical Note: Henry Augustus Rowland (1848-1901) was a distinguished physicist and was appointed as professor of physics to the first faculty of The Johns Hopkins University in 1876.
