Harry Fielding Reid papers, 1894-1944.
Collection of geologist, Harry Fielding Reid, consists of a small group of his professional writings and correspondence, personal items, reprints, and a large selection of photographs and negatives. Only Reid's scientific career in glaciology is represented in the collection. No items from his field work in seismology are included. Reports, articles, and photographs describe Reid's surveys and studies of glacial regions in Alaska. Personal materials include his holographic account of mountaineering in Switzerland (1894) and four diaries, of his mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Gittings who traveled extensively in Europe, 1884-1886.
