Frank J. Kerr (1918-2000) was a University of Maryland Professor Emeritus in the Department of Astronomy. He came to the University of Maryland as a researcher in 1966, and stayed on to become the Directory of the Astronomy Program in the mid-1970s and was Provost of the Mathematical and Physical Sciences and Engineering Division from 1978-1985.
