The Lancelot Law Whyte Collection consists of manuscripts, printed material, correspondence (including Bertrand Russell, Albert Einstein, and other notables), professional material, diaries, photographs, subject files, audio material, legal material, and other miscellaneous materials.
Lancelot Law Whyte (1896-1972), scientist working with Einstein on the unified field theory, based on the theory of Roger Boscovich; proposed the unitary principle to unify physics theories. Education: Trinity College, Cambridge; GtĖ˛tingen. Professional experience: Cavendish Laboratory, England; Chairman of Power Jets, Ltd.; British Army, Director of Statistical Inquiries. Writings: "The Next Development in Man" (1944), "The Unitary Principle in Physics and Biology" (1949), "Aspects of Form" (1951), "Internal Factors in Evolution" (1965), and "The Universe of Experience." Research interests: the formative, order-creating processes at work in nature; psychology, atomic physics, and biology.
