This interview begins with a discussion of Singer's associations with Lloyd Berkner, then moves on to discuss: his cosmic ray research at the Office of Naval Research; his opinions of many of his peers, including Sir Harrie Massey; the atmosphere during the International Geophysical Year; and conflicts between the Applied Physics Laboratory and the Naval Research Laboratory. Other topics and affiliations discussed include: Val Cleaver, Joseph Kaplan, Werner Von Braun, the National Security Agency, Project Argus, satellite data gathering and research, rocket testing projects, and the use of balloons in astronomy.
