Feynman, Richard P. (Richard Phillips), 1918-1988
Richard Feynman papers, 1933-1988.
Includes correspondence, biographical materials, course and lecture notes and transcripts, talks, speeches, conference lectures, manuscripts, publications, working notes and calculations, audio and visual materials, as well as material Feynman collected on the work of others. The course and lecture notes include notes for the lectures delivered to Caltech undergraduates from 1961-1963, which resulted in the published Feynman lectures in physics, as well as some of the edited transcripts of the lectures. Some of the other topics covered in the papers include high energy physics, the role of gravitation in physics, quantum electrodynamics, quantum chromodynamics, quantum mechanics, mathematics, computers, and his work on the Space Shuttle "Challenger" investigation, Correspondents include such major physicists as Hans Bethe, Neils Bohr, Enrico Fermi, Stephen Hawking, Werner Heisenberg, and J. Robert Oppenheimer, and Hideki Yukawa.
Feynman (1918-1988). Physicist (quantum electrodynamics). Affiliations: Atomic Bomb Research Project, Princeton University and Los Alamos (1941-1945); on the physics faculty at Cornell University (1945-1951), and Richard Chace Tolman Professor of Theoretical Physics at California Institute of Technology from 1951 until his death. Awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965 for his work in quantum electrodynamics.
