A collection of eleven notebooks of lecture notes kept by William Jasper Spillman in 1885 and 1886 while a student at the University of Missouri. Includes notes on civil government, metaphysics, physics, geology, lithology, applied chemistry, paleontology, paleobotany, and historical geology.
Spillman (1863-1931). Received B. S., M. S., and D. Sc. degree from University of Missouri; taught school in Missouri until 1902 when he joined staff of the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture; 1915 to 1918 chief of the Office of Farm Managment; 1918 to 1921 associate editor of "Farm Journal" and thereafter a consulting specialist; member of the faculty of Georgetown University.
