Founding of CERN, 1952.
Photocopies of original reports from 19 June 1952 in Copenhagen at a meeting outlining the plan for the founding of CERN. Authors of Part I of the report are Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg. Also includes photocopy of a newspaper clipping and photocopy of one page from "History of CERN", Vol. 1 on the meeting.
The European Organization for Nuclear Research/Organisation europňne pour la recherche nuclǎire, widely known as CERN, was established in Geneva, Switzerland in 1954 to coordinate and perform research on fundamental particles. The member states are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, West Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
