James Krumhansl papers, 1943-1990.
Correspondence, articles, subject files, and course material documenting Krumhansl's career at Cornell University, including his work in electrical engineering, biophysics, solid state physics and on the Superconducting Super Collider.
Physicist and mathematician. Krumhansl was an assistant professor at Cornell from 1948-1950 and an associate professor from 1950-1954 and then left to become the associate director of research with Union Carbide. He returned to Cornell in 1959. Krumhansl was the first director of Cornell's Laboratory of Atomic and Solid State Physics, which he headed from 1960-1964. He served as assistant director for mathematics, physics, and engineering at the National Science Foundation from 1977-1979. He returned to Cornell in 1980 and retired in 1990.
