The effectiveness of scientific advice to government [sound recording] : a lecture series at the University of California, Santa Barbara / 1976.
Lecture series given at University of California, Santa Barbara on the effectiveness of scientific advice to government, organized by Lawrence Badash in 1976. His description stated that very few of the speakers actually discussed effectiveness, so topics vary by individual. The introduction to the last tape recaps the previous talks, statin that DuBridge, Piore and York discussed some aspects of advising at the Presidential level; Townes gave a survey of advice offered to other parts of the federal government. Maullin and Post provided of analyses of scientific advising to the state of California, while Bullard gave his view of this in England. Teller would be addressing Presidential scientific advice and the future. Speakers include: Lee A. Dubridge, Emanuel R. Piore, Charles Townes, Richard Maullin, Herbert York, A. Alan Post, Edward Bullard, and Edward Teller.
