The Barth archive includes books (first editions of important natural scientists and doctors, i. e. Poggendorf, Carus, Einstein, M. Planck), brochures, publisher's contracts, correspondence. These materials reflect the entirety of book production, including commissions and licenses.
The Barth Publishing House is one of the oldest German scientific publishing firms, specializing in the areas of medicine and natural sciences. Poggendorf's 'Annals of Physics (Annalen der Physik)' can be counted among the great achievements of publication.
