Ramanujan Aiyangar, Srinivasa, 1887-1920
Ramanujan collection, 1917-1947.
Consists of xeroxes of Ramanujan's handwritten notebooks; along with B. N. Wilson's notes on the chapters of these notebooks. These manuscripts have been acquired from several mathematicians. The latter half of this section is a collection of tributes to Ramanujan on his return to India from Cambridge, and obituaries after his death.
Ramanujan, the well-known Indian number theorist who collaborated with G. H. Hardy and Littlewood at Cambridge, was elected Fellow of the Royal Society.
