Physics Education Research Conference (University of Nebraska--Lincoln: 1998)
Proceedings.
An edited transcript of presentations from the conference on research in the field of physics education held on August 1-2, 1998.
This group was founded in response to concern that the nation's physics knowledge is at risk, and that research into teaching and learning of physics performed by physicists is essential to its future. The community dates back to the late 1960s, to the activities of Robert Karplus, Alan Portis, and Frederick Reif at the University of California, Berkeley and of Arnold Arons, Ronald Geballe, and Lillian McDermott at the University of Washington. This conference was the third time the group assembled.
