The National Academy of Exact, Physical, and Natural Sciences was founded in 1874, and has as its primary objective the promotion and stimulation of scientific and technological knowledge in Argentina. It counts among its members renown personalities of the Directive Table consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Recording Secretary, Treasurer and Cashier. In addition, it is divided into three sections: 1) Chemical sciences, earth sciences and biology; 2) Mathematics, physics, and astronomy; and 3) Engineering. Also, the directive table, like the assembly, is composed of licensed academics, meeting regularly to consider aspects relating to the daily functioning of the Academy, such as national and international relations, awarding of prizes, scientific considerations, etc., for the diffusion of journals, anales, and monogrufaas, and the bulletin Noticias.
