Educated at Stockport, University of Manchester and T bingen. Chief assistant and head of the Themometry Division at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington, F. R. S., 1910. During the war he was in the Inventions Department of Ministry of Munitions and visited Canada and U. S. A., 1918. After the war he set up as a consulting engineer.
